With this technique named after its founder Zeller, you can solve any 'Dates and Calendars'

problems. ZEllER’S rule can be used to find the day on any particular date in the calendar

in the history. All you have to know is the formula given below and how to use it.

ZEllER’S Rule Formula

F = K + [(13×M – 1)/5] + D + [D/4] + [C/4] -2C

Where,

1) K = Date. So, for 27/06/2019, we take K = 27

In Zeller's rule, months start from Marc

Given : Zeller's Rule

To Find : How to Use

Solution:

Today

28 - Oct - 2020

K = 28

Oct  from march is   8th Month

Hence M  = 8

( for Month January and February , Previous Year is considered)

D is the last two digits of the year =  20  (2020)

C  = century  = 20   (2020)

F = K + [(13×M – 1)/5] + D + [D/4] + [C/4] -2C

F = 28  +  [(13×8 – 1)/5] + 20 + [20/4] + [20/4] -2*20

= 28 + 20 + 20 + 5 + 5 - 40

= 38

= 38= 5 * 7 + 3

Hence Remainder = 3

0 - Sunday

1 - Monday

2 - TuesDay

3 - WEDNESDAY

Hence Today 28 Oct 2020 is Wednesday.
