without actual division find the remainder when 2x^2-x+1 is divided by 2x+1

P(x) = 2x²-x+1

2x+1 = 0

x = -1/2

∴2(-1/2)² - (-1/2)+1

= 2*1/4+1/2+1

=1/2+1/2+1

=5/2

Now

4/2≠0

2 ≠ 0

∴this cannot be divided
