X+2Y = 27 AND 2X+Y = 33

==> X+2Y = 27

     2X+Y = 33

==> 3X+3Y = 60

==> 3(X+Y) = 60

==> X+Y = 20

so, 2x= 33-13.5
x=9.5÷2=4.75

hence, x+y= 13.5+4.75= 12.25
