Wo ships b and c are both due east of a point a at the base of a vertical cliff. the cliff is 130 metres high. the ship at c is 350 metres from the bottom of the cliff. (a)(i) calculate the distance from the top of the cliff to the ship at

c. (ii) calculate the angle of depression from the top of the cliff to the ship at

c.

d. the angle of elevation of the top of the cliff from the ship at b is 330. calculate the distance ab.

i) Let distance from cliff to ship C is AC


ac =  \sqrt{cd {}^{2}  + ad {}^{2} }

ac =    \sqrt{350 {}^{2}  + 130 {}^{2} }

ac =  \sqrt{122500 + 16900}

ac =   \sqrt{122669}

ac = 350.24m
