Given,

A what can be completed by 35 people in 7 hours.

To find,

If we want to finish the hour in 5 hours then how many more peoples are needed.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Here, we have to do the normal arithmetic method.

7 hours are needed for = 35 people

1 hour is needed tor = 7 × 35 people

5 hours are needed for = (7×35)/5 = 49 people

Number of more people

= ( Total required - Currently available)

= (49-35)

= 14

Hence, 14 more people will be needed.

SOLUTION

GIVEN

A work can be completed by 35 people in 7 hours.

TO DETERMINE

The number extra people must be employed if the work has to complete in just 5 hours .

EVALUATION

First we tabulate the given information

 \sf{ : Time \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  Number \:  of  \: workers }

 \sf{ : \:  \: \:  \:   \: 7 \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 35 }

 \sf{ : \:  \: \:  \:   \: 5 \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  ? }

Here time and number of workers are in the inverse proportion

Let x be the required number of workers

So by the given condition

7 : 5 = x : 35

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  \frac{7}{5} =  \frac{x}{35}  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  5x = 35 \times 7  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \:  x =  \frac{7 \times 35}{5}   }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: x =  49  }

Hence the required number of extra people

= 49 - 35

= 14
