ANSWER:

C.S.A = 180π cm² (or) 565.7 cm²

T.S.A = 792 cm²

GIVEN:

r = 6 cm

h = 15cm

TO FIND:

CURVED SURFACE AREA(C.S.A.) AND TOTAL SURFACE AREA(T.S.A)

FORMULAE:

C.S.A = 2πrh

C.S.A = 2πrhT.S.A = 2πr(h+r)

TAKE π VALUE AS 22/7

EXPLANATION:

C.S.A = 2(π) 6 × 15

C.S.A = 180 × 22/7

C.S.A = 180π cm² (or) 565.7 cm²

T.S.A = 2π ×6 × (15+6)

T.S.A = 2 × 22/7 ×6 × 21

T.S.A = 12 × 22 × 3

T.S.A = 792 cm²

CURVED SURFACE AREA = 180π cm² (or) 565.7 cm²

TOTAL SURFACE AREA = 792 cm²

GIVEN :

  • DIAMETER OF THE CIRCLE ON TOP OF CYLINDER IS 12 cm
  • HEIGHT = 15 cm

TO FIND :

  • SURFACE AREA OF CYLINDER

SOLUTION :

RADIUS = DIAMETER /2 = 12/2 = 6 cm

HEIGHT = 15 cm

SURFACE AREA OF CYLINDER = 2πr ( r + h)

 = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 6(6 + 15)  \\  \\ =   \frac{44 \times 6 \times 21}{7}  = 792cm {}^{2}
