  • To make sound, a loudspeaker is driven by modulated electric current (produced by an amplifier) that passes through a "speaker coil" which then (through inductance) creates a magnetic field around the coil, creating a magnetic field.
  • The moving coil loudspeaker uses the magnetic effect generated by a flowing current as the basis of its operation.
  • When a current flows in a wire, a magnetic field appears around it.
  • When the wire is wound into a coil, the effect is increased.
