Raja Ram Mohan Roy established Hindu college, Anglo-Hindu school and the Vedanta school to promote English literature.


He was well known for his translation of Vedas and Upanishads in English language which he believed would make Indians broad minded.


He was a staunch supporter of the western curriculum in schools.
