Would you expect the second electron gain enthalpy of o as positive, more –ve or less –ve than the first. Justify your answer.

The second electron gain enthalpy would be less negative than the first as the distance from the nucleus increases as we add more electrons and hence the second electron is not held tightly ,so the second ege is less
