Special status:

The constitution of india accords a special status to the state of Jammu & Kashmir under article 370 which was adopted by the constituent assembly of india on 17th october 1949.The word 'special' was added by the constitution. As of now these provisions gives the state substiantially autonomy which is enjoyed by other states of the union.
