If you focus on the number line , you will observe that the numbers go in an ascending order.it means that, the numbers to the left are smaller than the numbers to the right and the numbers to the right are bigger than the numbers to the left.

For Eg. -10 is smaller than -9 and -5 is bigger than -6.

The equation will be: (-6 ) - (-10) { The sign of (-10  ) will get converted to +10  as

                                     there is a minus sign before (-10 ).
