Irrational number - It is a number which cannot be expressed in the form of p / q where q ≠ 0. In simple terms it can be considered as a non terminating non recurring decimal number.

There are various examples. Some of them are :

√ 2 , √ 3 , √ 5 , .... , etc.

They are also the numbers which are not perfect squares of any number. Like √ 16 = 4. So √ 16 is a rational number.
