Given fraction is

By dividing given fraction by 2 we get

= \frac{-22}{36}

Again By dividing given fraction by 2 we get

= \frac{-11}{18}

As, negative sign is present only in numerator so it can not cancel it will stay as it is.

The simplest form​ of \frac{-44}{72} is \frac{-11}{18}
