Reasoning is one process used to obtain knowledge. There are other processes as well, such as observation. Imagination might also sometimes be considered a process used to obtain knowledge, but not usually in western analytic philosophy (you might find a lot of imagination used in western continental philosophy). In philosophy, epistemology is the field which studies knowledge, what it means, and how we get it. Unlike many fields of philosophy, epistemologists over the last 2500 years or so have basically agreed on the same definition of knowledge, essentially provided by Plato (or Socrates). Knowledge is defined as justified true belief (three distinct required conditions). What philosophers have not generally agreed on is the meaning of truth and what counts as justification. Typically, reasoning is one sort of justification of belief with the hopes that correct reasoning will guarantee that a belief is true, or at least make truth more probable or the belief more reliable than some unreasoned belief.

Answer:
Reason arises from subconscious neglect, whereas belief arises from a conscious and subconscious decision to do the right thing.
Explanation:
Difference between reason and belief
- A conclusion drawn from a belief is called reason. Reason can only work if certain axioms are assumed to be correct.
- Logic and facts are the foundations of reason. Belief, on the other hand, is founded on ideals and faith.
- Reason arises from subconscious neglect, whereas belief arises from a conscious and subconscious decision to do the right thing.
- Everyone is given the ability to use reason to test or filter their views, and both are faculties we all have.
- Reason is one of two faculties that drive our wills or decisions, with emotion or feelings being the other. Religion, for example, is based on belief rather than logic.
