:the release of water from dams during heavy rains can cause floods.Regulating and damming of rivers affect the natural flow of water causing the sediments to settle at the bottom resulting in rockier stream beds.It also fragment the rivers making it difficult for the aquatic fauna to migrate especially for spawning.Also construction of dams are highly expensive.
