They are slender,tube like structure..
They are composed of elongated thin walled cells places end to end...
Walls of sieve tubes are perforated...
Their nucleus degenerates at maturity...
Cutoplasm persist in mature cells...

COMPANION CELLS

They are found within the phloem of flowering plants...
Usually clesely associated with a sieve element...
Takes part in loading and unloading sugar into the sieve element..
They contain mitochondria
Regulate the activity of the adjacent elements ..
