Hey bud,
○ both of them carry out phagocytosis (the engulfment and destruction of pathogens)
○ both have indefinite shape.
○ both of them are having cell membranes.
○ both of them are having nucleus.
○ motility can be seen in both cells.

Hope it helps:-)

AdArSh007: Thanks :)
Hotbabe: Wlcm:-) have a good day!

Answer: There are 4 similarities between amoeba and white blood cells based on their structure and 3 similarities based on their function.

Explanation:

  1. Both are unicellular or single-celled organism
  2. Both have cell membranes.
  3. Both are nucleated.
  4. Both have an indefinite or irregular shape.
  • As Amoeba forms pseudopodia, its shape changes and it can move in any direction to engulf the food.
  • WBC also forms pseudopodia which help them move constantly in

and out of blood vessels and in the lymphatic system.

    5. Both demonstrate phagocytosis

  •  In amoeba, the process of phagocytosis is used to engulf its food

         or nutrients to acquire energy.

  •  There are 2 types of white blood cells called neutrophils that kill bacteria, fungi and remove foreign debris, and monocytes that cleans up damaged cells use phagocytosis in their processes.

    6. Both demonstrate independent mobility

     7. Both are capable of division

  • In amoeba- Division or cell division occurs through Binary fission or in some cases multiple fissions as their reproduction process.
  • While in WBC- They do not undergo cell division as they are produced by the bone marrow when needed, but there are B cells and T cells that come under the category of lymphocytes which is itself a type of WBC. B cells and T cells retain their ability to differentiate and divide once they encounter antigens.
