Yuvraj Singh is a young batsman of the Indian cricket team. He was born on December 12, 1981 at Chandigarh in Punjab. In his childhood he was attracted to cricket. He played in several school-level tournaments.

Later, he played for Punjab in the Ranji Trophy. His O.D.I, debut was against Kenya during the I.C.C. knock out tournament in 2000-01. In the tournament, he scored a sparkling 84 off 80 balls against Australia. But after that knock, he suffered from a bad form.

Eventually, he was dropped from the team when the Autralians toured India in early 2001. Later in the tri-series in Sri Lanka in August 2001, Yuvraj broke the run of bad form with a breezy unbeaten 98 against the hosts. After a disastrous tour of South Africa, Yuvraj was dropped for the home series against England. He regained his place in the side against Zimbabwe in early 2002.

He was in a good form during the Cricket World Cup 2003. He recent scored his maiden century against Bangladesh during the TVS Cup 2003. He is also a good fielder and a useful left-arm spinner.
