It is a parody featuring Sir Simon, a powerful spirit, and Hiram B. Otis, an American Ambassador. An American ambassador and his family reach England and prefer to stay in the haunted castle. The prior owner of the castle, Lord Canterville, tells Mr. Otis that as the castle is haunted by Sir Simon. He told the story how Sir Simon, killed his wife Eleonore long back. Mr. Otis didn’t believe in ghosts and irrespective of the story; he moved ahead and later found that the castle is haunted. Mr. Otis succeeded in getting rid of ghost and also old age British tradition. So, an amazing American satire ends with the amusing twist on the horror plot.
