The Sermon on the Mount is a teaching of Jesus that is found in the Bible. It is the longest discourse in the New Testament and is found in Chapters 5 to 7 of the Gospel of Matthew. It is one of the most often quoted sermons of the Canonical Gospels.

This is the first teaching in the Five Discourses of Matthew. It is followed by Matthew 10, Matthew 15, Matthew 18 and the Olivet discourse that occurs in Matthew 24. The setting of the sermon is the Ministry of Jesus after the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist. The baptism is talked about in the third chapter of Matthew.
