Sustainable Development is the process of socio economic development which satisfies needs and values of all interest groups without foreclosing future options. There are many case studies examples of Sustainable development in India like:-

1) CASE STUDY OF ALWAR DISTRICT :- Here the proactive work of "water man of India" Rajender singh has rejuvenated and regenerated water systems through water shed management measures like building of small check dams, johads, afforestation. This has brought far reaching impact in the region around Arvari river, brought rise in ground water levels, availability of water all round the years, increase in crop productivity and yield.

2) ICE STUPAS BY SONAM WANGCHUK:- This has created availability of water resources in Ladakh region at the time water deficit phases.
