Black Aeroplane was written by Frederick Forsyth. He reflects on how one’s judgment gets distorted and how it creates problems. the narrator is a pilot who is so much eager to meet his family and have a good breakfast that he takes the wrong decision of facing the storm instead of doing the right thing. Miraculously he somehow manages to escape with the help of a mysterious airplane.

The story Black Aeroplane is about a pilot who feels happy to fly over a city at the night time only. He is flying from Paris to London. While taking his flight, he dreams about a long holiday with his family members happily. He also fantasizes about the delicious breakfast he would have once landed. As soon as he crosses the Paris, he gets a look of the dark clouds that were a sign of the upcoming storm in the sky. But he is overshadowed by his dreams and does not want to delay them and also the risks the life of his passengers and heads straight into the storm. Everything gets dark while driving, he is unable to see and all his direction instruments stopped functioning and he lost the control of the plane. He cannot see anything due to black dark clouds. When all the hope was lost, he saw another plane whose pilot was more than willing to rescue them. The author panicked as there was very llittle fuel left. The opposite pilot guided them out of the storm and disappeared as soon as they saw the light. Upon landing, when he asks the lady in the control room about the other pilot, he is left in shock when she says that it was the only plane in the sky. it was he who has been hallucinating there is no other opposing plane coming.

Answer:

The narrator, Frederick Forsyth himself was the pilot. He loved his family and was quite brave and courageous. He had hardly flown a few miles when he saw dark, ominous clouds; flying through them was dangerous, yet he wanted to meet his family so much that he took the risk. As was feared, inside the clouds, his flying instruments stopped working. He was lost and his life was threatened. Quite miraculously, a black aeropleane appeared in the clouds and guided him to land safely. He was full of gratitude for the pilot of the black aeroplane; and rushed to air traffic control office to know about the pilot who had saved his life. He was amazed to know there was no other plane was flying that night, besides his.

He must have been a very fortunate and good human being as even angels were ready to help him in his trouble.
