As part of the BRIC nations, India and Brazil are both major developing economies with large populations and an abundance of natural resources.

  • India's life expectancy at birth-the average number of years a person is expected to survive if current mortality rates remain the same throughout their lives.
  • It is a measure of a citizen's health system's intensity throughout the lifecycle,  which In India increased by 65.8% to 68, while Brazil's life expectancy rose by 38.8% to 75 years between 1960 and 2015,
  • Though the birth rate in India is 18.7 births/1,000 population and 13.9 births/1,000 population in Brazil, still Brazil has a better life expectancy.
