The environmental pollution caused by urbanization is mainly due to the effects, such as the increase of urban land use, of the excessive concentration of population. The destruction of the environment through economic growth is mainly due to excessive consumption of energy.

Some effects of urbanization are Positive Effects of Urbanization, Housing Problems Overcrowding. Unemployment, Development of Slums, Water and Sanitation Problems, Poor Health and Spread of Diseases, Traffic Congestion. Poor air and water quality, insufficient water availability, waste-disposal problems, and high energy consumption are exacerbated by the increasing population density and demands of urban environments. Strong city planning will be essential in managing these and other difficulties as the world's urban areas swell
