With Mrs. Pumphrey Tricki lived a luxurious life, she treated him like her son. Whereas with the narrator Tricki lived a normal life like other dogs at the surgery.

With Mrs Pumphrey Tricki got everything he likes to eat like chocolates, cake, horlicks and many fore things which a human ears or drinks. On the other hand at the surgery Tricki was not given anything to eat except for water for two days. Tricki easily get the things he wanted to eat when he lived with Mrs. Pumphrey. But, in the surgery he used to compete with other dogs to get his share of food. He only had his regular walk and played a game with the gardener for his exercise. In contrast at the surgery he used to play with the other dogs all day long. Most importantly when he lived with Mrs. Pumphrey he grew fat like a sausage and fell ill but when he lived with the narrator he grew stronger and became healthy.
