Answer:CONVERSATION;

Explanation:Words that make a performance great – Dialogue between Director and Actor

A discussion about the dynamics and ways of managing and solving artistic conflicts between Silvio Soldini and Giuseppe Battiston during the workshop planned for late May.

What does a director have to tell an actor to make sure that what he said is understood? How should he say it in order to see his words become real gestures or facial expressions? The making of a scene does not result from unilateral communication, but from a fruitful dialogue, a one-to-one conversation that implies a specific relationship between the creator of a character and its performer, the one that gives it body and soul and makes it deep and real in the eyes of the public.

OffiCine will explore these backstage dynamics through Dialogue between Director and Actor (26th-30th May 2014), a workshop dedicated to actors (both professionals and amateurs) who want to understand such dynamics and learn how to manage and overcome the artistic conflicts that might arise, together with Silvio Soldini andGiuseppe Battiston. Led by two protagonists of the Italian film world, the workshop will be an opportunity to explore the level of freedom of actors and the support that they can give to directors for achieving a good performance. The workshop will also include a real casting: the Dialogue between Director and Actor is actually part of ShortFilmLab, a project that involves various filmmakers working at the screenplays of some fiction short films. The actors will then participate in a real audition for these screenplays and will also be involved in the shooting.
