1. Energy gap:

Energy gap or the band gap is the energy difference between the conduction band and valence band of a solid (say for semiconductor or insulator).  

2. Conduction band:

It is the band of electron orbitals with high energy and empty space that is ready to receive electrons from valence bond is the ‘conduction band’.

3. Valence band:

It is the outermost orbital of any atom on any material where electrons can generally occupy. Valence band is the band of molecular orbitals with low energy and disperse electrons to the conduction band.
