(Two citizens are discussing seriously the changes in the environment due to pollution and the possible measures that can stop the further deterioration of the environment)

First citizen: Hey, have you noticed the winter season is quite short and comes quite late?

Second citizen: Yes, it is true. My parents were discussing the same phenomenon last night!

First citizen: Do you know the reason behind this climatic and seasonal change?

Second citizen: Undoubtedly, these changes are there because of the environmental degradation due to colossal deforestation and burning of fossil fuels! Global warming is tangible now! Earlier we just talked about it; now we have started seeing its effects!

First citizen: If this pollution is not controlled, the future is going to be very grim. Life conditions will become unbearable! What can be done to save our environment?

Second citizen: I whole-heartedly agree with you. The only solution to this very critical problem is people’s mass participation in saving the environment. Mass forestation drive, and stopping the use of fossil fuels altogether can solve this problem.

First citizen: Is it possible?

Second citizen: Certainly it is. There are other alternative fuels available. The government must act strictly. There should be a ban on fossil fuels. The government must create forest belt near every city or town. Toxic emissions of industries must be strictly regularized. This problem is controllable.

First citizen: But will people cooperate with the government?

Second citizen: Sure they will, who does not want to live? Besides, we must leave a better planet for the coming generations. All that is needed is the proper sensitization of people.
