Dear Diary
Recently the tree plantation drive was organized in our school. All the junior and senior students were divided into groups. Each group was supervised by a teacher. Each group chose one spot and tilled the area and sowed the seed of a tree. Every day we watered our particular area. It was great fun to work together.
Planting trees is very advantageous. Trees help to purify the air. They take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. They help to make the area shady and cool. They prevent soil erosion. They also help to prevent both floods and drought.

It was a fun filled week for all of us. The teachers in senior school organised a tree plantation drive with the help and support of the Agriculture and Forestry department of the government. Several saplings of Neem, Eucalyptus, Gulmohar were planted around the school boundary. In the garden fruit trees like Litchi and Mango found pride of place.
Planting trees helps in improving the environment, prevents soil erosion and makes the general atmosphere more aesthetic. Most of all, more the number of trees, the greater the degree of oxygen released into the atmosphere which is the lifeblood for human beings.
