The school I studied in contained a swimming pool inside the campus. Thus the swimming classes were kept, so that students learnt swimming over there. Trust me when I entered the pool area, I felt really nice. Although I have a phobia for water bodies, I did not think that I myself will have to enter the water body at that point. I saw other girls in the pool and they were having a fun time. I stood there by the pool and watched the fun and frolic and chatted with my seniors. Suddenly a husky voice and hefty hand grabbed me from behind and asked me to jump in the pool. I vehemently protested about it. I have a fear of suffocation in water. She said, "Kuch nehi hoga, jump mar". It means, nothing will happen, don't be afraid and jump. She literally pushed me from behind.
Suddenly I felt a strong thud and could feel the weight of my body for a few seconds. Then I felt somebody has grabbed me from the bottom and is not letting me go up. I struggled to push my head as further up as I could. Suddenly in between all of my struggle, I heard a thud behind me. It was my swimming trainer. She grabbed me by my hand and continuously asked me to paddle my legs. I tried to push my legs up. But my hands were already up. So my legs were not listening my commands. My hands were already in the control of my swimming trainer. She kept on moving them towards her, in forward direction. In the meanwhile I tried to cross the hurdle of the water around and push my legs closer to my upper body. Then before I could even thrust my legs up above the water, I kicked her. Yes, you read it correct. I kicked my trainer. The trainer who is supposed to give me marks on my swimming abilities, based on my performance for the entire year. You could imagine my feelings. She screamed loud and scolded me. But the way she handled my kick, I felt that she might have faced the same experience with other newbies in swimming curriculum. She left my hand for a second to rub her knee, where I kicked. She said, "Itne se pani me, itna dar, gehre pani me kya karegi tu gadh!!" She meant if I could not manage myself in water not even waist deep, what would I do in water really deep
