Dear Diary,
Tonight I am going to share with you my anguish over the deterioration of rivers by pollution. I went to the river that flows near our city. I was shocked to see that it has been converted into a big drainage channel for the city’s waste. The water was murky and very less. The river bed was littered with plastic bags. I was deeply hurt at the sight. What will happen to life if the source of life has become so dirty?
The rivers in our country are in similar condition. It has happened because of people’s and the Government’s indifference. I take a pledge I will do my best to save rivers.
