Mono hybrids are a cross between two purebred organisms of the same species for the study of one single pair of alleles.

Di hybrids are cross between two purebred organisms but of different species for the study of inheritance of two different characteristics.

mono hybrids produce phenotypic ratio of 3:1 and genotypic ratio of 1:2:1 in F2 generation.

Dihybris, on the other hand, produce phenotypic ratio of 9:3:3:1 and genotypic ratio of 1:2:1:2:4:2:1:2:1.
