Auxins promote stem elongation, inhibit growth of lateral buds (maintains apical dominance). They are produced in the stem, buds, and root tips. Example: Indole Acetic Acid (IA). Auxin is a plant hormoneproduced in the stem tip that promotes cell elongation.
Hormones produced here regulate growth, and stimulate the adrenal and thyroid glands, as well as the ovaries and testes. ... The intermediate lobe, which is just a thin layer of cells in humans, releases a hormone that controls pigmentation—skin color—through the production of melanin.

Plants have less groups of hormones than animals andhumans. Plant hormones usually affect many, or most, of the cellsof the plant. They are not organised in glands like animal/human hormones as they are generally released from cells themselves and either work locally or travel in the plant'stransport system.
