Answer: Dahej shabd arbi bhasha ke jahej shabd se nirmit hua hai jiska arth hota hai saugat. Sadharantaya dahej ka arth hota hai- vivah ke samay di jane wali vastuen. Jab ladki ka vivah kiya jata hai toh var paksh ko jo dhan, sampatti aur saman diya jata hai usko hee dahej kehte hai.

Hamare samaj ke anusar vivah ke baad ladki ko mata-pita ka ghar chodkar pati ke ghar jana hota hai. Is samay me kanya paksh ke log apna sneh darshane ke liye ladko ke sambandhiyo ko bhent swarup kuch na kuch avashya dete hai.
