My Hobby

The word ‘Hobby’ has been derived from ‘Hobby Horse,’ which is a stick fitted with a wooden horse and on which small children ride for their amusement. The hobby is a useful work that could be taken up during free time. Hobby means a useful work in which one takes interest and derives pleasure by doing it in his spare time with or without any monetary benefit.

This occupation is quite different from regular work. There are many hobbies like gardening, stamp-collection, coin-collection, drawing, cricket, photography, reading books, etc, that one adopts according to one’s leisure hours and interest.

There is a vast space, in my house, for growing vegetables, fruits and flowers. I have grown roses, lilies, and sunflowers. There is an adequate growth of vegetables in our compound. So, we rarely purchase any vegetables from the market.

Gardening gives me the exercise required to keep me fit and healthy. It rejuvenates and inspires me whenever I am depressed. My heart rejoices at the sight of my garden in full bloom.

My hobby is gardening. I think it is the best hobby because trees and plants are very useful for our life. They not only give us food to eat, but serve us in many way as well. They make the fresh and cool air for us. Plants give us flowers.Trees give us fruits to eat and wood to burn. So I like trees and plants very much.

There is a small - garden in front of my house. We have planted some beautiful tree and plants in it. I water them daily, and set right flower-beds at times. This is a very cheap and useful hobby. Its gives me great pleasant. Its keep me healthy. Our garden gives us flowers, fruits and vegetables. It keeps the air fresh and clean.

My mother, father and other member of my family help me in my hobby. In my leisure time I look after my garden.
