Dear Editor,What should be the limit of tolerance. Earlier bandwidth between tolerance and intolerance was wider. It has now shrunken. It is visible in any Indian family. As child we never retaliated on any disagreement with parents, whereas today’s generation reacts instantly. A society is built of people. Compromising nature is being overshadowed by growing arrogance. It may be due to hardship in day today life. Tolerance is a trait of human being. Intolerance is a negative behavior. Habits, behavior of man is not built in one month or one year. It takes long time. Incase in country, intolerance is vigorously surging, doesn’t blame lies with the people governing country for long and responsible for overlooking this aspect of human nature and not channelizing energy of people in positive, constructive direction. Also I see more intolerance grown among political group than in general citizen of the country. Which Govt was ruling country for decades. Not only at center but states too. Congress. Are they not culprit of ruining behavior & mindset of human resource and destroying the social fabric of Ganga-Jamuna Tahjib. Any stringent rule can’t change human behavior. Every day girls are being harassed. Don’t we have stringent rule to discourage it. Tihar jail and other Prisons in country are overstuffed. Don’t we have criminal law and effective punishment machinery. Can anything be worst than Nirvaya like episode. How many intellectuals parted with honors bestowed upon by the nation to express their anguish when the entire nation was charged on this issue. What society need, to fight with social evils, is not any political drama and mere concern by elite intellectuals but more and more their closeness & involvement with society as social reformer. I too wish to return my small award in the protest of the present political drama staged by people who defamed the nation and not having sincere concern for nation prosperity or uplift of economically weaker section of society. I want them to stop this agitation of selfish motive and make purposeful contribution in nation morale building. Those authors, scientist, social reformers who endorse my view, I call upon them to join in expressing their protest.
