Respected Sir,
I am a resident of ________ and through your renowned newspaper, I want to draw the attention of the readers of your newspaper towards the initiative taken by people of our locality.
The people of our locality have started to dispose of their biodegradable waste in the pits dug up in their garden and those who don't have a garden at home, do so in the community park. The people have started to reduce and reuse the non-biodegradable items to save the environment.
I hope the readers of this newspaper will learn a few methods to save the environment from this article.
Yours truly

Subject: Our locality’s waste management initiatives
Sir:
I am writing to your good self to sensitize people living in other localities towards waste management strategies. In our locality we have taken the initiative to manage our waste ourselves. We have hired a man who collects waste from houses; separates it into biodegradable and non-biodegradable heaps.
We have also installed a compost making machine that converts all the bio-degradable waste into compost, which is sold later. We have made a rule that each house that will give plastic waste, it will have to pay ₹ 10 per plastic unit. For bigger plastic or non-biodegradable unit, the fine is ₹ 50.
As a result people now give very little non-biodegradable plastic. We are also planning to install a mini non-biodegradable waste management machine in our locality also. Through the medium of your esteemed daily I just want to appeal other localities to follow similar strategies to manage their waste also. I hope you will give my views some space in your esteemed daily. Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Shivam
