Dear Amrita:

I hope this letter finds you in great health and soaring jubilant spirits. By the time this letter reaches you, you must be enjoying your vacation. Well, I am so excited about the vacation. I am dying to go to my granny’s village in Himachal Pradesh. It is a sylvan spot of elysian beauty.

The rustic villa is on the top of the hill. The temperature is pleasantly cool. All around are terraced fields where pure natural vegetables grow. Beyond the fields are natural forests. The source of water is a stream. Every morning I will go to the stream to fetch pure water for drinking and cooking.

My granny cooks the most scrumptious dishes for me as long as I stay there. At times the hill top gets surrounded by pure white clouds. I just love to be in that heavenly hamlet. The rest is fine. I will set of for my granny’s village on June 3, 2018. Do share with me how you are going to spend your vacation. Looking forward to hearing from you. Parnam to uncle and auntie.

Your loving cousin,

Sushmita

Dear Shivam,

Thank you very much for your letter. This summer was a memorable one. In June, I went to a school camp. It was very interesting. There we were getting ready for the upcoming exams, went to the pool, a library, an exhibition hall, visited the archive, which stores old letters, newspapers, magazines, books on the Great Patriotic War.

July was the most memorable month. I spent it in Krasnodar with relatives. The weather was wonderful. All day long we swam in the Black Sea, sunbathed, examined the local attractions, visited the museum, cinema and a huge gift shop. The sea was so good I did not want to leave it.

August I spent at home. I finally managed to read the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s  "Favorites". I also began to learn Spanish. This language is very beautiful. In the evening, I was walked with friends, together we are having fun.

Tell us more about your visit to Crete.  What was the most unforgettable? What did you eat in the local restaurants?

I look forward to your next letter.

Yours affectionately,

Shivu
