Write a incident that told a important lesson in our life

I was in Chandigarh when this incident happened. One evening, I was walking through a park when a kid selling bubble toys came to me and asked me to buy it, I simply said what will I do with it and refused to buy it, but he kept on insisting. So, I offered him money without taking his sell. To my amazement, he refused to accept it. His friends ridiculed him to be a fool of not accepting the free money. I also egged him on to just take it but he again replied in nay, and said he can't accept anything (for free), unless I buy something from him. Finally, I had to buy the toy just for the sake he takes the money.
I was left perplexed after this incident. At first, I thought may be money is not everything happiness comes from inside and that it is just another temptation but a much deeper internalization gave me another insight.
Money is not evil. It may not be the only thing that can make you happy, but its flow is necessary!! It is how you make the flow makes it a fortune or an evil. Anything done rejecting the ethos of one's life may give one momentary pleasure but the soul can never be at peace with such deceit.
There are several means to make a living but the one which are framed by dignity and self respect lasts the longest!! That kid may be too naive or young or not clever enough not to extract the gratis money, but I feel he was wise enough not to take it...to hold his values strong even in extremes…to uphold the tranquility of the forces of conscience inside.
