Subject: Increasing crime rate in New Marine Lines.
Sir,
On the subject mentioned above, I would like to draw the attention of the police department, other law and order agencies, and the authorities in charge.
In spite of several appeals to the police department and meeting the authorities to address the increasing crime rate and anti-social elements in New Marine Lines, nothing has been done till date.
The locality has no street lights. Installing street lights are necessary to prevent criminal activities and anti-social elements at night. Street lights discourage unwanted elements. It makes the community feel secure and safe. also prevent avoidable accidents. Therefore, street lights could help in curbing crimes after dark.
As an immediate measure, increase the police patrol in the area. It would be great if the police department set up an out post in the colony as soon as possible.
Therefore, it is my earnest request to the Superintendent of Police to take up the matter on priority basis to ensure the security and safety of this locality at the earliest.
