The Editor,

Subject: long power cuts in our locality
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I wish to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the long and inconvenient power cuts in my locality.
Electricity is a necessity for all of us. It is widely used throughout the country by all its people. Lately, there have been a large number of power cuts in my neighborhood. They not only cause distress among working adults, but also, young students. I am currently a grade 12 student and I am studying for my board examinations but it becomes very inconvenient for me to do so when there are so many power cuts. Many students like myself have been suffering due to the lack of electricity, because our entire future depends on the results of these examinations. This has also been affecting old and sick patients who are on bed rest and need electricity to take their medication. It has hence, been causing a lot of distress and inconvenience to almost all families living in the neighborhood.
In conclusion, I request you to print an article in your newspaper for the same and I would just like to say that everyone has the right to living a peaceful life and the concerned authorities are requested to take action against the same.
Thank you
Yours truly,
Sunita/Sunil
Hope it helps!!!

Subject: Frequent load shedding in Ram Nagar, Kanpur.
Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed national newspaper, I would like to highlight the plight of the people caused by frequent load shedding in Ram Nagar, Kanpur.
I am surprised that in spite of lodging several complaints with the Power Department and the Municipal Corporation nothing has been done till now and the residents of Kailash Colony continue to face frequent load shedding for the last three months. Due to this the people of this locality are facing much hardship.
Both parents and their children are anxious over the prevailing situation since it disrupts their daily study hours.
Many small shops owners who use power in their works, like fixing punctured tyres and checking the volume of air inside tyres for a small fee are in a desperate situation. They have rents to pay, bills to clear, and mouth to feed. With their daily little income reduced, they are in a quandary.
Long periods of load shedding, especially at night hours, also lead to an increase in criminal activities as anti-social elements take advantage of the situation.
It must be noted that it is the common and poor people who suffer the most during load shedding because they cannot afford to buy generators.
I therefore request the concerned departments and agencies and the authorities to urgently look into the matter immediately and restore uninterrupted power supply to Ram Nagar, Kanpur.
An early action on this matter will be highly appreciated.
Gratefully thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
SUNIL

Subject: Increased thefts of the city
I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the daylight thefts in my city, Rohini. There have been a number of people who have reported thefts of watches, money, gold, etc since last month. Yesterday some burglars stormed in our house with guns and tried to kill us. They took a large amount of money from our house.
This is creating a lot of problem in the city. Kindly increase the security of our city.
