Through the columns of your esteemed daily newspaper ,I would like to draw your attention towards an important issue that is very essential for Mumbai . Now a days there are many accidents occuring in Mumbai. This is a matter of feeling shame that Mumbai is a very big city where everyday thousands of cars, buses are running but the road is not safe for transportation. Everyday many people are admitting in the hospitals .I therefore request you to take some time from your busy life and publish a small news on it.I also request you to highlight this issue in your newspaper ,so that the government can take necessary actions.

Sir / Madam,
Subject: Road safety
I am a regular reader of your newspaper and wish to use the columns of your esteemed daily to attract the attention of public and the authorities for the urgent need for road safety.
I'm currently living in Mayur Vihar, New Delhi. Here, young drivers enjoy driving at fast speed and often flaunt rules and regulations. They get an adrenaline rush by driving beyond the speed limit and claim it is exciting and thrilling. But, it is extremely dangerous as the roads are crowded, there is much less control of the vehicle at great speed and there are greater chances of accidents. We must follow traffic rules, it is always better to be safe than sorry. At times, people drive very fast under the influence of alcohol and this must be avoided at all costs. Pedestrians must cross only at zebra crossing and drivers need to give right of way to them. At the traffic lights, drivers need to park vehicles behind the 'Stop' sign. They must ensure their vehicle's indicator lights are working and the horn is heard clearly. Traffic police has to impose fines strictly on offenders: people driving without helmets or without using seat belts should be checked.
I hope after this letter, the public will realise the importance of road safety and the authorities will take more measures to check offenders.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,
Dev (YOUR NAME)
