Hello, how are you doing? I am doing fine and I hope you are too! I've heard you wanted to know
more about my country so today i will be writing to you things I want you to know about the place I
live in.
I will be talking a bit about the culture, entertainment and traditions. Indonesia is centrally-located
along ancient trading routes between the Far East, South Asia and the Middle East, resulting in
many cultural practices being strongly influenced by a multitude of religions, all strong in the major
trading cities. Greet an Indonesian with “Selamat” (sell-a-mat), which means peace. This should be
said slowly and with sincerity. Initial greetings will involve a slow handshake (always with the right
hand) accompanied by a slight nod of the head or bow.
