Dear Bapu:

I hope this letter finds you doing good deeds as you always did when you were on Earth. Your life has been an inspiration not only for Indians, but for people from all other countries as well. Happy 150th birthday to you. You are an epitome of many virtues, self-less actions, and peace-spreading thoughts. No wonder you are called Mahatma (The Great Soul) by the entire world. One quality of yours that inspires me the most is the virtue of cleanliness.

You worked so much on sensitizing people of India in the backward areas to personal cleanliness and hygiene. You sent your disciples to far flung backward areas to make people aware of cleanliness. Your cleanliness mission inspired me to work for cleanliness drive launched across the nation. I thank you from the core of my heart for being a role model. I on the occasion of your 150th birth anniversary assure you that I will also work dedicatedly and unselfishly to carry forward the Swachhta Abhiyan that you started long ago.  The rest is fine. Parnam.

Yours respectfully,

Sameer

A letter to Bapu conveying the child's contribution to Swachhata and also making his or her commitment for the future:

Dear Bapuji,

On your 150th birthday, I am so happy to introduce Ketan, a class 8 student who is so ardently following your footsteps to make India a Swachh Bharath. Ketan is the forerunner in our school’s campaign of Swachh Bharath. He not only sees to it that the school and its surroundings are maintained spic and span but has gone all out to educate the people in the underprivileged society on the benefits of cleanliness.

He has tackled the cleanliness at the garbage producing stage itself. He is a key person the drive to recycle and reuse in the areas close to our school. He has developed a number of collection points for reusable waste and has done a lot for the society at this young age.

On your 150th birthday, he takes a pledge to do his best for his country in terms of making it Swachh Bharath.

With Regards,

XYZ
