The first letter to the editor bemoaned the cutting of trees when homes are built. But even more villainous than the tree removal is the design of the actual subdivision itself.

Councils and approval boards should fight these plans tooth and nail, but not on a size mentality. They should insist on multiple levels of diversity, cost, style, lot size, curb appearance etc. There should a special emphasis on preserving, or providing a strong element of nature.

Subject: Illegal cutting down of trees in our area

I request the Environmental Project agency department to protect the trees that are spreading oxygen and keep the area cool from cutting down illegally. I request you to have a notice board to stop the process of  chopping down trees and protect the environment with immediate effect.

Your faithfully,

Raj
