Suppose you are Rakhi Dubey, residing Khajari Muhalla Behind Hargovind Kirana Store Damoh. Your examinations are near but people play loud speakers on every occasion for a long time. This creates a lot of disturbance in your studies. Write a letter to the collector of your district and request him to put ban o the use of loud speakers.

Subject: Regarding Loud Speakers

Respected Sir,

I would like to draw your kind attention on the fact that board examinations like high school certificate examination and higher secondary school certificate examination are drawing near. So this is the time for students to make great preparations for their examinations to get good marks. But we see that people play on loud speakers on every occasion for a long time till late hours in the night. This creates a lot of disturbance in the studies of the students. They are unable to concentrate their mind on their lessons because of the noisy atmosphere everywhere.

Sometimes the sound of the speakers is so loud that it seems it will tear the curtain of our ear and make us deaf. The small children are unable to take proper sleep in the night. The sound of the loud speakers makes them awake at an uncertain time. This makes the parents uneasy and disturbed.

The patients who are taking rest on their bed are unable to sleep and take proper rest. In other words every person of our society is affected by these loud speakers.

Hence I request you to put ban on the use of loud speakers on seeing the inconveniences of students, small children, parents and patients so that they may do their work properly.

Thanking you in anticipation

Yours Faithfully

Rakhi Dubey

Subject: The insensitive use loudspeakers.

Sir,

With due respect I would like to bring to your kind attention the problem of irresponsible use of loudspeakers.

First, celebration of festivals are a time of joy everyone look forward to. Festivals are an inalienable part of our social life. The problem is not celebration of festivals, but the manner in which they are celebrated. The use of loudspeakers during festival seasons need to be restricted.

Second, there are restaurants, cafes and night clubs where loud music is played late into the night in the name of birthday celebrations and parties.

Third, this are all public disturbance and another form of noice pollution. Noise pollution is known to cause headache, irritation, and other problems in a person.

Fourth, loudspeakers and loud music are played all day and throughout the whole night. This disturbs the sleep of the public. It interferes with the study times of students. We must also consider the sick people who want quiet time to sleep properly.

Therefore, I feel that the use of loudspeakers and loud music should be banned or restricted in residential areas. Permit must be obtained first from the Deputy Commissioner and granted only if is meant for the good of the general public. There must be a rule specifying a certain time limit beyond which defaulters will be penalised.

Yours sincerely,

N. S. HAZARIKA

Jorhat, Assam
