sub: Nuisance caused by stray Animals

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I want to draw the attention of concerned authorities and the general public towards the suffering of the residents of Mahatma Gandhi Road, Dibrugarh due to the nuisance caused by the stray animals. One can notice stray animals on the road even during the peak hours of the day. The stray animals have become a great nuisance for the pedestrians as well as for the drivers of vehicles. They cause frequent traffic jams and accidents. The very other day I was riding on my motor bike. Suddenly, a stray pig appeared from now where just in the middle of the road. In spite of my best efforts to avoid the collision with the dirty animal, I had a nasty accident resulting in fracture in My leg. Such scenes have become the order of the day. sometimes rows of stray cows and bulls block the road and cause traffic jams and accidents.
We have already written to the concerned authorities but no action has been taken so far in this regard. Even a delegation of residents met the Deputy Commissioner police last Sunday. The outcome was not fruit full .We hope the concerned authorities will rise from their slumber and take immediate remedial measures to deal with this nuisance.
