Subject: Plight of the farmers due to insufficient rains this monsoon
Sir:
I am writing to this letter to express my deep concern over the problem of insufficient rains this monsoon. Most of the farmers across the nation depend on rains and monsoon for their crops. Irrigation facilities are not available in all parts of India. A slight irregularity in monsoon influences crops considerably. The meteorological department has predicted below average rains this monsoon.
Insufficient rains will result in drought in many parts of the nation, which means poor crops for the farmers. Poor crops means low income for already poverty stricken farmers.
The Government should provide irrigation facilities to the farmers. The water resources of the nation should be interlinked to provide water surety to the farmers. The Government should also work on other alternatives to provide finical security to farmers. Kindly give my views space in your esteemed daily. Thanking you.
Yours truly,
Mandeep Sharma
