Sir,

Kindly publish my views on the growing craze for fashions among students in the esteemed columns of your paper.

The craze for fashions has obsessed all young minds. Young students are mad after modern fashions. They spend their time and money recklessly on fashions. they wish to look smart after the latest style. Tailors are their gods. They like to dress up like film actors and actresses. Many students have made fashions a matter of prestige and in doing so they sacrifice their studies. They are very particular about the latest ‘cut’ and ‘wear’ of the day.  Boys look like ‘dandies’ whereas girls look like butterflies. Girls wear such dresses as expose their bodies. They like to wear tight-fitting clothes. Even their hair styles are copied from the film stars.

The craze for fashions is not without apparent hazards. Certain fashions provoke the laughter of the on-lookers. Young students must understand that their first duty is to study and to make their careers. If they spend all their time in running after fashions, they will not be able to do well in their examinations. Parents and teachers must inculculate in them a love for simple living.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Gurinder Saini.
