Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I wish to make an urgent appeal to every person to the means of an important problem.

The importance of sports increases in self-esteem and mental alertness make school sports and games necessary for every child. Although the benefits of sports abound with a diminishing economy many schools are cutting out sports and physical education programs to determine the students for nation.

Children have to access to sports and games. Not only does it empower youth and promote higher self-esteem but it also motivates students and enables them to earn better grades especially in schools where obtaining certain grades. Sports and games also helps students to be fit and healthy. It ensures them and keep them away from chronic diseases. Hence, sports and games are very necessary for students.

Through the columns of your esteemed daily newspaper, I would like to highlight the importance of games and sports in the life of students.

The benefits of physical exercise or games and sports are far-reaching. So it is important for students to take part in games and sports. The benefits of games and sports are not limited to physical well-being. Games and sports teach us important values of life like discipline, teamwork and strength in unity. Games also instill in us obedience, respect, self-control, concentration, good manners and behaviours. Students must not lead a sedentary life by spending too much time in idleness and inactivity. Physical exercise increased the physical well being of a person and improve mental and academic performance. A lack of physical activity is known to increase the risk of obesity, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and decrease their mental performance.

Regular physical activity is known to have the following benefits:

1. Builds healthy bones and muscles.

2. Improves strength, stamina and endurance.

3. Reduces stress and anxiety.

4. Helps control weight and reduces the risk of obesity.

5. Keeps the circulatory and respiratory system strong.

6. Improves blood pressure and reduce cholesterol levels.

7. Reduces feelings of depression.

8. Promotes psychological well-being.

9. Boost our self confidence.

10. Improves our memory power.

Games and sports has been shown to have positive effects upon learning, increased attentiveness in class and better grades. There is a strong correlation between high physical fitness scores and high academic scores. So, do not hesitate in getting involved in games and sports. Therefore all students must participate in games and sports for physical, mental and emotional well-being.
